We believe that patients are better served when their providers collaborate with you and with each other. The providers at Specialized Infusions are experts in the safe administration of ketamine but are we are not mental healthcare providers. To ensure our patients get the best possible care, and to practice this collaborative approach, Specialized Infusions requires a referral from your primary mental healthcare provider.

As you begin infusion therapy, Specialized Infusions’ approach is to keep both you and your mental health provider informed of your progress while seeking the valuable input both of you can offer. To do this, one necessity is for you to have regular and consistent follow up with your mental healthcare provider, both before and throughout your ketamine treatments. This will require a monthly renewal of your mental healthcare providers referral. Specialized Infusions will assist in this process.

Who Can Refer?

Referrals are accepted from a Licensed Independent Healthcare Practitioner (LIP) who is qualified to diagnose and treat the relevant condition for which you are being referred. These may include: Primary Care Provider (PCP), Psychiatrist, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Don’t Have a Provider?

We have a list of qualified providers with experience caring for patients receiving ketamine infusions. Evaluation and treatment by one these providers does not guarantee a referral for ketamine infusions.

Evaluation and management by the referring provider is often covered by your health insurance. Check with the provider you choose to obtain information about your coverage.

  3. Review the treatment procedure, alternatives to the procedure, potential risks of the procedure and answer any remaining questions
  4. Make a copy of your state or federal ID (strict requirement)
